Our Business Model:
Slow Planet will always be free and open to everyone, but we still have to pay the bills. Our chief source of revenue will be advertising. We will try to keep ads to a minimum and only work with advertisers that embrace or reflect the Slow philosophy. If you feel we have failed in either of these pledges, tell us why. Debate is the lifeblood of Slow Planet.
Later, we plan to develop a marketplace for buying and selling Slow-inspired products and services. Slow Planet will take a small commission from every transaction. Again, we expect a robust debate over who should be allowed to trade through our community.
If Slow Planet goes into profit, we will use the surplus to fund Slow-inspired projects around the world. We will invite you, the citizens of Slow Planet, to help choose the recipients. In the long run, our aim is to establish an International Slow Fund that will support people everywhere who are changing the world by slowing it down a little.
Finally, we promise never to pass on the personal details of our citizens to a third party.
